Biography
My name is Thi Le Helfer. Born and raised in Vietnam, I moved to the United States to pursue higher education. After obtaining a Master of Laws from the University of Southern California, I proceeded to secure a Master of Arts in Psychology from Pepperdine University. With the goal of becoming a licensed psychologist, I am transitioning into a Doctor of Psychology program starting in Fall 2025.
Residing in Los Angeles—a city known for its diversity, I have always wanted to contribute my part to the common good of the local community, especially the underserved population. In materializing such vision, I have volunteered at a social services organization named Family Rescue Center and currently am working as an ESL tutor for the Adult Literacy Program with the Los Angeles Public Library.
Given the role that English plays in this day and age, I recognize the need to learn this universal language not only from immigrants but people around the world. Once an English learner, like all the students of ABVN, I am aware of the challenges learning a different language may bring. Therefore, I am here to offer my support and assistance in facilitating this linguistic journey for Vietnamese fellows. In addition, this is a wonderful way of expressing my immense sense of patriotism.
Despite a busy academic schedule, I manage to maintain a work-life balance by spending quality time with my husband and our two lovely dogs. I am also an avid Muay Thai practitioner who strives for better fitness and self-discipline.
