Biography
My name is Johnathan Frank Van Niekerk and I’m a South African citizen. I live in the second biggest city in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh city. I am a Native English teacher. I have been teaching for over 2 years. I studied at the University of Pretoria in South Africa and gained my Degree in Marketing management I have conducted training and have taught many subjects such as online and social media marketing, sale courses as well one on one business planning courses. I completed my Tefl (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) in 2020. I left my full-time Marketing business to move to Vietnam with my girlfriend and became a full-time English teacher, In Vietnam, I have been teaching at a local primary school where the students range from Grade 1 to Grade 6 with classes of 50 students per class. I also have done evening classes for an English center and still conduct one on one classes for students that would like my help, I am passionate about seeing my students strive to be better English speakers. I would like to give back to Vietnam, My Girlfriend and I Left our Country knowing there was no way for us to make a future for ourselves, We decided to try Vietnam to see if this would be our forever country, Once we spent a year here and got to know the people, the culture, the food, and the way of life, We knew we wanted to become citizens to this great country and wanted to strive to help this country any way we could, I believe it is so important for every Vietnamese person to learn English to drastically improve their lives, From finding a job in their own country to starting an online business whereby they can market to the world, And because of this I feel I can make an impact in every students’ life I get into contact with. ABVN Community is the right start for me to help Vietnamese people that want to learn English. My Hobbies are: Traveling, reading, cooking, movies, eating at restaurants with my Girlfriend, Gaming, Motorcycles, Sky diving, Rock climbing, Training, Running, Boxing, Playing the piano, meeting new people, scuba diving, and Photography
Focus of teaching
Speaking, Listening, and writing Are the main focus for me as a teacher, but I am flexible in mixing up my lessons to suit the student's needs, to help them achieve their English goal.
