Biography
My name is Tim Barnby and I have dual British and Australian citizenship. I live in Orkney, which is a group of islands to the north of mainland Scotland. I have always worked in aviation. For the last 20 years I have been an air traffic controller. I started my career as a controller in New Zealand and then moved back to the UK where I have lived since 2011. I also train new air traffic controllers. I have recently completed a TEFL course to help me teach English to foreign students. I know how useful it is to be able to speak English, it is very widely spoken and in the case of my own profession, aviation, it is the main language used around the world. I was fortunate to be a native English speaker and would like to help others to improve their English. I also love Vietnam and am sure I will learn a lot from the students I teach. My hobbies are travelling, flying light aircraft and watching sport, particularly rugby and Formula 1.
