Alon has been teaching for over 30 years. He trained at University in Adelaide and gained his Masters in Information Technology in Education in Melbourne, Australia and taught for 20 years at a girl’s school as Head of Geography. He has also worked in Kenya in Africa teaching English to upper primary students. Alon completed his CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) in 2015. Following this, he moved to Hoi An and taught English to a variety of different age groups including primary children as well as adults. He was teaching in Vietnam in 2016 and 2017 at Danang Vocational Tourism College. He was involved with providing language guidance and English pronunciation to hospitality students as well as running in-services for teachers on new ideas in teaching. Having returned to Australia he is involved with an asylum seeker organisation as a volunteer teacher of English.
Alon is married with two grown-up children. He likes to cook, read novels as well as travel. He enjoys meeting new students and speaking with them about their life experiences.
My enjoyment comes from teaching a large number of students who inspire me with their energy and enthusiasm for learning. They are very grateful to have teachers who are dedicated in their desire to improve their English speaking and pronunciation skills. I am honored to be a member of the ABVN team.
