How far can English take you?
Perhaps we've heard many stories of individuals for whom English has helped them soar high and far – far beyond the bamboo hedges at the village entrance, far beyond the ripe rice fields, far beyond the coffee plantations.
Outside the airplane window will be places you've never been, making you realize how diverse the world is and how small you are. When we travel far and return, it's still the familiar old places, but you will come back with a very different mindset, bigger, more colorful, and with more aspirations than you once had. Going far and coming back will always be different from never daring to leave the familiar place where you were born and grew up.
At A Better Vietnam, we still believe in education, and that English can create change, especially for those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and have limited access to opportunities. First, it's for the individual themselves, leading to a brighter future, then for their family, and further still for the community and society.
